Nan, how many speeding tickets did you get coming home?
I now have only 19 more days of work before I retire. On Thursday the new Commissioners fired the county Manager. One of the Commissioners said there were people in the courthouse earning 90 and70 thousand $ a yr. The people in the county were hurting and the county employees should share in the hurt, makes sense.
So they fired the Mgr because they thought they could find somebody to work for a lot less. The mgr had a smile on his face because his employment contract calls for a severance package of over $100,000. A great way to save some money!
Adding to employee morale is the state bureau of Investigation is investigating the sheriff’s office for corruption.
Everybody keeps telling me they wish they were in my shoes and could retire with me.
Friday we are off to Raleigh to watch the Fields kids while Mike MAria Anna and Rex head to the beach for the MLK weekend. I hope it warms up for them. This AM in western NC it was 12 degress and we are on tap for 6 to ten inches of snow tonight.
